Senior Product Designer

My mum created costumes for the opera, my dad was an engineer, and I turned out somewhere in between. To me good design is translating complexity into something elegant and intuitive. I love a slick UI as much as any designer, but if the problem isn't solved underneath, then it's just a pretty picture. That requires understanding the problem deeply enough to simplify it, whether it's cool science, slightly boring accounting logic, or tricky API or regulatory constraints.

Curiosity keeps me engaged. Whether it's learning new skills or deep diving into domain knowledge, curiosity always leads to better design outcomes. AI tooling has been the latest new skill area. It's broadened my skillset and sped up workflows, but problem framing, understanding how a user feels, and good judgement aren't things a tool can easily replace. When requirements shift and surprises pop up, I stay pragmatic and keep the team focused on what actually matters: delivering experiences people love to use.

Outside of work I love taking photos (and only posting them on Instagram 3 years later), and watching an apparently unreasonably number of films (almost 100 so far in 2026).
